Tom Smith's Story

“I cannot thank Grief Encounter South West enough for all of their support after my wife Laura died of cancer leaving me with two young daughters. At that time, mine and the children’s worlds were crumbling around us. Rosie, my eldest, had a year of therapy, the sessions not only supported Rosie, but allowed me to spend time talking to other families in similar positions, allowing me a safe space to discuss my fears and worries too. Rosie is doing great, she is now able to stand up in class and hold conversations around bereavement and discuss happy memories about her mummy.”

the great bristol run

The Great Bristol run is an action packed South West running event. you can run a half marathon, 10k, or a Family Run. Applications for 2022 are now open. Why not register your interest and run for Grief Encounter South West

South West Golf Day

We would love you to be part of our inaugural South West Golf Day on 29th July 2022 at Filton Golf Club and help raise critical funds for bereaved children, young people and their families.

Trek one or all three peaks, through the gorgeous countryside up to 16.5 miles. Pick a distance, date and time to suit you, we will then send you a route map and the support to help you raise as much as you can for Grief Encounter South West

counselling

One to one counselling is a vital part of the support we offer you. We understand the importance a private place to work through grief, whatever your age

Grief Encounter have produced a range of Grief Guides that may help you, or those around you, navigate your grief, covering all kinds of subjects that often hard to comprehend at difficult times

grieftalk helpline

You can call the grieftalk freephone helpline weekdays from 9am to 9pm. The trained staff will offer you bereavement support. Or chat to us via our confidential web-chat service
